The Perfect Perdizes Playlist, Part One

Since I have a lot of free time lately, I usually take a walk around my neighborhood for 2-3 hours a day. Along the way I see muscular guys walking cute little dachsunds,  businesspeople’s impatient expressions as they wait for the buses, and strolling senior citizens who look at me like I’m insane because I whistle and dance as I walk. Here are my latest non-American choices, arranged by theme/time:

a) I start off with some Brazilian music so I can pretend like I’m practicing Portuguese:

-Dias de Luta, Dias de Gloria by Charlie Brown Jr.

-A Rua É Nois and Eu Gosto Dela by Emicida

-Eu Nasci Há Dez Mil Anos Atrás by Raul Seixas

-Lourinha Bombril by Os Paralamas de Sucesso

-Folhetim by Chico Buarque de Holanda

-Ta Vendo Aquela Lua by Exaltasamba

-Moro no Brasil by Farofa Carioca

-Malevolosidade by Superguidis

-Como Eu Te Quero by Black Alien

-Sampa by Caetano Veloso

I also listen to sertanejo and pagode, but I don’t want any Brazilians reading this to kill me. Click below for excellent non-Portuguese songs:

b) Spanish music I can salsa and sing to. This is usually when people start staring at me.

-Mírame by Victor Manuelle ft Yomo

-Bombon de Canela by Cortijo y su Combo e Ismael Rivera

-Besame Mucho by Trio Los Panchos or Besame Mucho by Harry Connick Jr. (Every day I debate which version I like better)

-Ay Cosita Linda by Nat King Cole (I sing the lyrics at crosswalks)

Part two consists of intense workout music, followed by indie songs I listen to when I feel pensive. Coming soon.
